This new platform will allow AWS customers to utilize the full benefits of the Helios RXP in all aspects of security analytics acceleration including: intrusion detection/prevention, application detection, anti-virus, content/URL filtering and security log file parsing.
The Helios RXP can assist in security analytics by implementing tens of thousands of complex regular expressions in network data at speeds up to 40 Gb/s. Titan IC has developed this ground-breaking technology and has implemented it on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), so it can be specifically customized for each customer’s needs. The technology can be easily updated while in full operation allowing the addition of new complex regular expressions during run time.
Regular expression processing has mainly been executed in software up until now and has thus suffered inherent throughput difficulties that require vast amounts of host processing. However, with the introduction of the Titan IC Helios RXP on the AWS cloud, many of these issues can be eradicated by hardware offload acceleration on the F1 FPGA platform. The Helios RXP is proficient in analysing data at full network throughput rates reaching 40 Gb/s and can implement up to 1 million complex regular expressions in parallel.
